The more things change, the more they stay the same. It's time for a new perspective on human sexuality as we face the most aggressive campaign in history to squash the freedom of people to express themselves. I am motivated to speak out by the wounded and dying souls of my brothers and sisters. The ghosts of those taken too early haunt me. There's no more time for keeping quiet or staying invisible. Get your fight on.

Rachel Maddow - David Bahati "Kill The Gays" Bill Sponsor - Pt. One
This is important stuff, and Rachel (as always) sums up an intricate and
complicated subject in a simple fashion, making it more easily digested.
The USA-grown homophobia which fueled and supports this bill and others
like it is ever-present as a threat against us.
Just this weekend, James Dobson attempted to make a (ludicrous)
connection between gay rights and the shooting of the children in Newton
on Friday. Dobson Shows Ass, Works Agenda After Tragedy
This is the sickness of what we face, and we owe it to ourselves to be
educated about them, even as they remain ignorant about us.

Ray Boltz: "God Knows I Tried"
Regulars know I hold little regard for religion as it offers far more harm than help.
In that vein, I realize that due to the insanity of religion, many people of LGBT
origin/makeup have had horrible times coming to terms with their identity.
Here's the song for you.
The slowly appearing text in the 'video' is a bit annoying, but the message of
coming to grips with one's sexuality over many painful years is handled honestly
and aptly, and the further personal message in the type is worth reading.
There's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Mitt Gets Worse: Julie Goodridge
This is an incredible group/campaign/website devoted to getting the word
out on the real Mitt Romney, since obviously he can't be trusted to speak
truthfully nor consistently.
Voting is one of the single-most important things we as an oppressed minority
can do to make our feelings known and our voices heard.
Please take a moment to find out what's behind all the glitz and shimmer.

You would think that we
could reach a point

I'm Just Saying....
So, I am a huge fan of humor in combatting
domestic terrorism; it makes the point yet
doesn't make light of the concern.
I'm also a big fan of provocative actions--
especially hot, steamy, spit-swapping varieties!
But I have to ask-- is all of it really necessary,
given that Chick-FOUL-A's own marketing.....
...sounds completely like an ad campaign for a
lecherous gay bar !?!?!

'Chock-Full-a' Shit
![]() |
| Chick-fil-As Prez looks pretty comfy with wrapping his lips and sucking. |
I'm sure I don't know.
Chick-fil-A has always been synonymous with defibrillation, and they've
always had a 'Christian agenda' (which, of course, never has anything to
do with so-called-Christianity at all.)
But this media war has provided the Reich in this country a focal point for
their disdain and psychosis.
Now, I don't care anything about trying to get them to change, since hard-asses
don't develop consciences or clues, but I'm all about boycotts and getting their
sponsorship out of 'inappropriate places' where they might be able to spread
their dangerous agenda .
Here's some info from the group "All Out" in reference to the nasty fast food
chain's faux pas, squared.
***********************************************************
Chick-fil-A has gone off the rails. President Dan Cathy has said that the fast food chain is "guilty as charged" for funding homophobia to the tune of millions every year - and they're proud of it.
This Wednesday, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, and the biggest anti-gay organisations across the country are sending every one of their followers to chow down in Chick-fil-A and celebrate their homophobic agenda. This is the moment to show Chick-fil-A that homophobia is just plain rotten.
We can hit Chick-fil-A where it hurts - their bottom line. By not buying their food, and signing the petition to show your support - we can create the biggest demonstration of America's pro-equality agenda, ever. We have until Wednesday to make it happen - will you sign on and tell Chick-fil-A no way?
www.allout.org/NoWay_ChickFilA
All over America, people are saying no way to Chick-fil-A's anti-equality stance. Chicago has said the franchise is not welcome. Boston has told Chick-fil-A they cannot set up shop where America's first, legal same-sex marriages were held. Students at University of Kansas and Wichita State University are demanding that Chick-fil-A get out of their schools.
Last year, Chick-fil-A spent around $2 million to fight marriage equality across the country, publishing false "reports" claiming that gay and lesbian people are abusive parents and, worst of all, pushing for criminalization of homosexuality all over the world.
We know there are other corporations funding anti-equality measures - but Chick-fil-A has taken this to new heights. They're proud to be peddling hate; "guilty as charged". In 2010 alone, Chick-fil-A gave almost $2 million dollars to anti-gay groups. A national outcry is creating an international media storm and it's telling one story - Chick-fil-A are on the wrong side of history.
With America's most powerful anti-gay organizations gathering behind one of their biggest funders - we need to send a message that it's not okay to play chicken with love and equality. It's time to show Chick-fil-A, and those whose anti-gay agenda they fund, that there are more people who believe in equality than oppose it. Our message is short and sweet - but we need to make it heard now. Wednesday is Chick-fil-A appreciation day - will you sign now and tell Chick-fil-A you don't appreciate their anti-gay stance?

"Lies and Lunacy" - (Battling) The religious and conservative on homosexuality
Here's a good feed of multiple humorous and serious commentary in response
to the outbreak of Cray-Cray in the media in recent months!
(When the first one is over, the next in Que will automatically play). I find it
heartening to see all the good work being done around the globe by some
very talented, very spirited ladies and fellows, in promoting common sense
and decency!

Blackboard Jungle, Revisited
Removing homophobia from the classroom
couldn't be a simpler concept;
implementing it has turned into
quite the quagmire, however.
As church and state must be separated,
so too must religious intolerance
be completely removed from the classroom.
And bias based on religious-teachings is just that;
immoral, inappropriare, illegal abuse.
Schools which are private and/or
religion-based institutions should not
be exempt from these standards.
If a school of any type takes subsidies,
state funding, government grants, or
receives tax-exempt status, they have
an obligation to leave bias out of their teachings
and policies. Otherwise, they are using
federal and other government monies to
promote hate speech and a second-class
citizenry.
As stewards for future generations,
those schools owe their students a
safe and welcoming place to be themselves.
A child being young enough and
'powerless' enough in the eyes of the law
should not be grounds for dismissing their needs.

Clarity
We spend so much time seeking to stop other
people's assault on our humanity because
of their limited scope and definition of us,
it is easy to get caught up in pigeon-
holing and limiting our lives.
Just a reminder.
Be whole.
Be happy.
Be you.

Grateful
I'm tremendously fortunate, and sometimes as a result of what I have been
privileged to have, I am quite unaware of the depth of what's been received.
I grew up a fairly typical, middle-class country boy in a suburb, in a small
town in Florida. But, my saving grace was that I was close enough to a large
metropolitan city, Tampa, and went to school and cultivated interests based
out of there.
Growing up gay was still difficult; there was a dearth of positive gay images
or information in the late 1970s, early 1980s, and it really wasn't talked
about at all in daily conversation. Yet, everyone knew the shame that was
to be attached to the dreaded "F" word whenever it was used to punctuate
contempt and end social standing.
But as time went on, I met people. I found out about the original "Tomes
& Treasures" LGBT bookstore in Tampa. I attended the GLC at USF
(that's all it was then--a Gay-Lesbian Coalition. Come to think of it, the
debate to make it 'Lesbian' inclusive may have taken place while I was
there!) A friend at school had a dad who had just come out as gay, and
books were lent. I had parents that were both oblivious and hands-off.
A pro-gay therapist was found by my loving grandmother.
I fooled around with a school friend, discovering heaven.
I had a boyfriend.
I had advantages that many never have.
Now that I have spent some 10 years living in a truly isolated, inclusive,
tiny southern town in Georgia, I have seen an entirely different side of life.
Folks here grow up with limited choices, limited access to information,
complete societal domination by the church, and a goodly distance to
drive to get to anything positive--bookstore, social group, church, bar, or
campus--that is open to them.
People here grow up completely terrified of someone finding out who
they are, or what they think. There is virtually no visibility here for
someone who is openly gay or content. Most who come to terms
move far away and never return.
Some decide that chastity is their cross to bear, and saddle up for an
uncompromisingly martyred life. Others contort their psyche into a
split, living one way for their friends and neighbors, and another on
business trips or, quite dangerously, on the down low in town.
The welcoming and nurturing cocoon of a real community....of options
and alternatives and, most importantly, the positive mirroring of what
it means to love yourself, are not available to these folks.
shaped by such a world, and I'm thankful that I can't. But I do have
immense compassion and empathy for those who have.
I don't expect everyone to come out. Such blind idealism is great for
speeches, but not the real world. I wish I could craft a better environs
for all my brothers and sisters...to provide for them what I had the
great fortune to have available to me. I wish this were a better world.
But I have to settle for hoping that folks like those here in rural
Donalsonville know now, thanks to the Internet and TV visibility and
more open people than ever before, some basic truths.
Like the fact that they are perfect as they are.
Or that their feelings are valid.
And they are not alone.
That it's never to late to learn to love and accept yourself, as you are.
That you have a right to live free and pursue your desires.
That life is worth living, wherever you are and however you find yourself.
That in order for others to know and love you, first you have to do it.
Don't accept anyone else's limits or condemnations; life is far too short.
I never knew how much greatness I had been exposed to until I met
folks who had lived in relative darkness and gone without. It's never
too late.
***********************************************************
(This may all be dismissed as condescending clap-trap by my local peeps,
wondering "Who does this guy think he is?" and asserting that there's
nothing wrong with how they live. The slave is always taught to have deep
love for the master, and to avoid the very thing they most need and want.
Que sera, sera.)

"Good Morning, PART OF America!"

QUIT TELLING US TO APOLOGIZE!
You go update your shit, Americans-with-Head-Up-Your-Ass Syndrome.
Yes, more bitching about the double-standard filled bullshit of Good Morning America's
ridiculous puritanical retarded-ass stance!
After Adam Lambert performed on a prime-time AMA show with what was labeled 'inappropriate' behavior by Oral Minority twats, Good Morning America reneged on Lambert's invite to perform live on their show.
Because of the time slot?
Because they have no time delay?
Because somebody complained?
Because they think he isn't professional and can't follow restrictions?
Because they avoid all controversial guests?
Naw. Because they're cowardly, pandering, dullards...and because they're FULL OF SHIT!
The show has featured plenty of topics that were not 'suitable' for young viewers.
They have had performers who normally do very suggestive performances.
They sucked George Bush's dick on national television for 8 damned years while the nation dove into the toilet, and they supported a war that killed thousands.
But two men kissing--on another program--poses a conflict?
Get real.
And the entire bogus controversy is indicative of exactly the problem that Lambert was attempting to side-swipe. A pervasive and troubling double-standard.
Female stars have dry-humped and done completely nasty stuff on stage at awards shows for years. Women can kiss each other. Male rock stars can hump and grab crotch and gyrate--so long as they are perceived or promoted as lady-killers and thereby considered appropriately heterosexual.
But a gay man doing the same routine automatically gets labeled inappropriate and obscene. Get over it already. As Sasha Cohen brilliantly displayed in BRUNO, this country goes nuts with glee for violence, but loses their mind with fear and hate when it comes to intimacy between two men.
High time for a cool change, baby.
